Default fresh swap, no start

97 240sx, 00 LS1.

yesterday we did a quick tune on the ecu before the car was running to remove VATS and try to set it so it might idle and run OK till i can get it to a dyno. cranking it yesterday with no fuel and injectors were firing from what the HP Tuners program said.

buttoned some things up this morning (wiring) put the fuel pump in and tried to fire it, just cranks.

i have a pressure tester so i checked fuel pressure at the rail and its reading fine. pulled a spark plug and have no spark.

first thing i thought was i screwed something up with the wiring. verified all the wires at the ECU (all grounds good, 2 B+ and single ignition wire all getting full battery voltage when they are supposed to).

sensors like the MAF and TPS ARE getting voltage with the ignition ON and NOT with ignition OFF which leads me to believe the ecu is switching on.

we DID remove VATS yesterday.

any ideas? did i miss a wire?

even if VATS was still on it and not dissabled it would start for 3 sec and die. Make sure you have 12V to the Big Pink wires to each coil bank when ignition it hot. ALSO.....there is a ground that (on camaro and firebirds) that went to the radiator support by the battery. If that is disconnected it will just keep on crankin and not start. try to hunt all your grounds down and make sure they are grounded.

oh wait i can answer my own question

because they both get ignition voltage from the same junction in the harness haha.

gonna add a couple power wires and post what happens lol

this is what happens when you get over zealous stripping a harness
