There are a few vendors and sponser that can help you out.

A few of them are:
S&P (hotrodlane.cc)
BRP (brphotrod.com)
American Touring Specialties (ATS - t56kit.com)
Hooker
Generic Adapter/mount found on the internet and ebay.

You might check out some of the 2nd Gen F-Body site for other conversion companys, but many of the sponser here on this forum can help.

Just use the search

Headers are a bit of a problem. Hooker has been the front runner of production swap headers, else the are custom made.

I have a 1978 camaro, and there really isn't that much support for the 2nd gen camaros on these swaps. Much of the ideas remain the same, but as far as finding pre-fab parts that'll fit is more luck than anything. I tried Stainless work's street rod headers and they didn't quite fit. Maybe they would if I massaged them a little, but I didn't want to. I'm going to try their 98-02 f-body headers and see how they go. They make their headers to order, so it'll be about a month before I find out if they fit.

The best thing to do is lurk on forums and call around. Eventually, you'll find some good leads. If you call street and performance they'll send you a catalog and a DVD. If you're burning for information, call them, they definitely know their stuff.

You can use your current transmission mount by cutting off the tab and rewelding it on the opposite side. Stainless works makes swap headers at around $900. I have a set of FLP headers that have been modified to fit a second gen f-body for sale. You can also use pacesetter headers for 98-02 f-body. Look under one of my old posts for a drawing to make your own engine mount adapter plates. I installed a LQ9 and 4L80E in a 78 trans am.

BRP makes a conversion kit for $469.00 that includes the trans crossmember and motor mounts/adapters for the 2nd Gen F-body

I am using 4th gen headers on my 72. drivers side needed the collector cut and angled away from the frame. passenger side needed some slight tweaking but not bad.

Does nyone run Kooks headers? I have e-mailed them to see if they make, or are willing to, make a set for 2nd gen Camaros. Haven't heard back yet, but I was wondering if they are worth the extra $$$?

Kooks makes a nice header, but best bang for buck is the pacesetters. I love them decent quality and makes good power.

I just recieved my Stainless Works headers (this time they're for 98-02 f-body.) They are tight, but fit much better than the street rod headers. They are angled towards the frame, which is slightly annoying. I guess Surlyjoe has this same problem. I also had to bang on one tube to clear my lower control arm on the passenger side. Here's some pics.

those look great. my dynatechs have a much longer collector so it was a bit more of a problem. if I do another I may spring for those.

Have you seen this part number from Stainless Works? I was sent this with a price of $803.72. It is supposed to be LS1 headers for 70-81 F-body. I couldn't get a good answer from them when I asked what type of engine mounts were used to design these.
