You wanna put an LS6 into your 07 Mustang GT? What's wrong with the stock motor? Sorry I don't know much about the newer mustangs, I'm just curious why you're gonna tear down a brand new car......

You do know that you will void all the warranty on that car. Usually people will buy an older car to do a swap in.

yes i know.

i was planing to supercharge my motor but it can only handle 450 to the wheel before i have to change to forged internals and that is $6000 for just to forge the internals and another 6000 for the supercharger. so $12,000.00. my friend "known as Disturbed Bird on here" is selling me his complete LS6 with the LT headers for $2,000 and going to do the swap on it. the motor only has 10,000 miles on it. for the same amount of power as i wanted to make on my motor but for $10,000 less

You will need to do lots to get the vehicle to run correctly. The S197 mustangs use all kinds of electronics.

Personally, I would sell the car, but an 05 V6 car, and then continue, since your going to have to gut lots of the car anyways.

Right off the bat, you'll need the PCM, wiring harness, motor mounts, driveshaft, and an adapter for your old trans or possibly a new trans altogether. In addition to that you'll probably need to do quite a bit of fabrication to get your stock gauges working with the new motor or replace them with aftermarket.

It'll be a pretty significant undertaking.

Also, do a google search for "heretic mustang" They did this exact same thing with a V6 mustang. They went all out, but it'll give you a good reference for a starting point.

what exactly would have to be taken out? i know it will need a new pcm and wire harness, motor mounts, tranny mount, does anyone know if painless performance makes/ or can make some kind of plug and play adapter for the gauges to be functional with making it a pain in the ***.

Somebody forgot to add in about another 4K worth of odds and ends by the time it is running and the hair pulling and cussing settles down.

Either sell the car and get something older or dont do it. The car will be worth less with an ls1 in it and have no warranty. I wouldnt do it. My 2 cents

i agree, think that your car will be worth pennies on the dollar after you do this swap.

i'm all for a nice swap, and i'm 100% in favor of a Ford based lsx swap obviously, but as said, and will be said by almost everyone even if they don't chime in, you would be FAR better off building another car or selling the '07 and starting with something else!

good luck with whatever you decide!
