Default obd2 diagnostic connector?

hey guys. im trying to wrap up the wiring for my swap, (lt1, i know, its not an lsx) and i just realized that the harness was cut at the firewall and i do not have the diagnostic connector. im wondering if i can get a connector from another car or a new connector and splice it in? really im not sure what the connector looks like wire-wise and if it is wired in with the engine harness itself or a separate harness or what. any input on this is appreciated. thanks guys

You should be able to find the connector on a lot of cars, however I`m not really sure which connector you need.

Depending on what year the LT1 is it may be OBD1 or OBD2. I don`t remember what year is the cutoff (I think anything that was 96 or newer was OBD2).

All OBD2 GM cars use the same connector.

Wiring it in should be a simple process. Here is the OBDII pin out.
