Default LSx into a G-Body in NC

Are there any shops or individuals doing the LS swap into and G-Body in the NC area? As close to Raleigh as possible would be great.

I havent started one myself, but I will be in the next few years. My plan is a turbo'd LS1/t56 into a 79-82 Malibu wagon.

I have checked into doing it myself, but with the lack of tools and time. i thought it would be easier to pay someone to do it. I have no problem paying for qulity work. If I had a garage and the tools then I would do it myself. O well have to build a garage on the new house.

im in NC and was wondering what the laws were on swaps. someone told me that the car has to be 20 years old or older to have a street legal swap. anyone know for real...not i know a guy who knows a guy. I would much rather do a lsx swap into an FD than an FC.

Then don't you think that contacting whatever agency oversees vehicle inspection/licensing in your state would be the place to go, rather than a message board?

i am deployed in iraq right now and thought it would be easier to write "i live in nc" since i will be back in a few months. SO, i thought it would also be easier to ask on the forums to see if anyone knew the laws.

Last time I read the laws it went like this. You can put any engine that that is newer then you car is OK. But, the engine must be from the same make and class of car. Such as a 01 F-Body LSx into a 95 Camero. OK. A 01 F-Body into a 95 S10/ NO GO.

Have not look into this in about 6 years.
