Default early 70's pickup conversions

well guys here is the story. My dad just brought up to me today that he was lookign to buy an early 70's GM pickup for him and i to hotrod out, and for him and mom to cruise around in when they both retire here in the next 5-10 years. Well, i brought up that I wanted to put an LS1 in it for a motor. he said he didnt care what i did motor wise, he just wanted an early 70's truck, and my help with it I couldnt say no! So, im wondering if any of you know of, or have put an LS series motor in an early 70's Gm pickup? Any help would be appreciated. im sure someone has to have done it. Thanks in advance guys, Rodney Pierce
