Lightbulb How many think we should have a "Conversion Parts Only" for sale area???

hey All.........

I think this would be a great idea in helping to aquire or sell the parts needed for a conversion. i'm not sure if it would be better to have a sticky or a completely independant for sale section for "Conversion Parts Only".

anyone up for this or against it, feel free to speak up. i've included a simple yes or no poll, please vote only once!

Couldn't all parts be considered conversion parts?

No to a "conversion only" section, but a section that's ONLY LSx parts - no SBC/LT1 or body/chassis parts - would be nice.

what conversion only are u talking about ?
civic LS1 converison ? rx7 ? 240sx ? 69 camaro ? mustang ? group them all together ?
it doesnt really make sense either way
just post them all in the regular for sale section, people will search

I could see it being a good idea, at least for some of the more-common swaps (i.e. 55-57 Chevys, '78-84? Malibus, first- or third-gens, pickups, etc.). That way people would have a designated place to look for headers, crossmembers, etc..

But that's just MHO...

I kinda agree with this statement...where do you cut it off. Your thought was well intentioned but I'm not sure how practical it would be.

that's why i was asking. if not, it's no skin off my nose as my "conversion" is done, just modifying from here on out til i sell it. i just thought for parts such as headers, k-members, motor mounts, etc, it might be nice for both buyer & seller to have an easier time with it.

I think it would be a good idea, people could sell stuff like mounts, headers, maybe wiring harnesses for swaps, instead of us swappers searching through 2 pages of camaro parts you know. If you need engine parts you could look there, swap stuff here, just mu $.02

a very good idea as long has it was done nice and simple -also it would be good to brake it down in popular conversions that have been done in the past like ls1 in rx7 kind of material-etc etc-

Can we sub-category it under this forum instead of the for sale section?

i agree on it being attached to the hybrid section. There are lots of swap parts out there and it would be easy to keep track of them here. If it's designed to help you fit an LS motor into something that didn't come with an LS motor it should go here!

Default good idea

I think its a good idea for things swap related - like LS1 wng/trans with all accec. where someone may want long block only for a replacement engine in a late model and dosent need all the rest of parts as a swap would require, and Why Not?

Or at least allow the posting of parts that would be good for conversions in this hybrid section. For example, my buddy has an entire front accessory kit off a Trail Blazer SS that would only be wanted by people in this forum. He also has a complete 98 LS1 engine.

Not sure how to police it, or even if it needs to be. I think items not related to conversions would quickly drop out from lack of interest. And since such items listed above could be swap or direct replacement it would benefit everyone to be here and in regular For Sale forums

I think this is a great idea. I have parts left over which I thought I needed but I never used...

It'd sure make it a heck of a lot easier for someone looking for a specific part, rather than having to search through 26 pages of search results, all of which are threads that somwhere in them have the words "camaro" "ls1" "stock" "intake"...

I give it 2 thumbs up!

I think that it would be extremely practical. I would have saved many hours of pain with mine if this were available.
