Exhaust Manifold for 5.3 in a 1947 Chevy car I am installing a 5.3 into my 1947 chevy car. The exhaust manifolds are the stock 2003 5.3 Yukons. The passenger side manifold will work but the drivers side will not. The manifold hits the frame rail, plus I have to route the steering shaft in the same location, everyting is going to be real close.
Is there a stock manifold that is a center dump close to the block? I might have to use block hugger header but that will be the last resort.

Corvette ones might work.. they are center exits.. maybe the GTO or CTS-V's. The F-Body exit more to the rear.. any of these can be picked up cheap... The car ones seem to tuck in tigher as compared to the Truck (they just have the room as compared to the Car ones)
You might look into S&P shorties that are block hugger types.. let us know which ones work out for you.

The Fbody manifolds definitely tuck in tighter than the truck parts. The drivers side truck manifold flares out to clear the front driveshaft in 4X4 applications. In my Jeep I am using a Fbody drivers side and the truck manifold passenger side...

Well I have measured several different manifolds. None of them will fit. I have about 3" maxiumn clearance between the frame and the steering shaft has to go in there also. It looks like its block hugger headers or custom make a set

Thanks for the info. My problem is on the drivers side as the exhaust and steering shaft need to fit in about 3-3 1/2" of space. I will look for some of the sheet metal exhaust manifolds, that looks like the best place for me to start.
