GM did it in a 4th gen show car they once had. I hate to thing how your going to get to the distributor though.

It will work. Went and looked at a 4th gen camaro with a 565 steve schmidt motor last month. Tight fit, still had the distributor in the back with a crab style cap.

Or you can run a front distributor drive..........



For something like that, I'd go to the drag racing forums and ask around. That's done all the time for drag racing...

Think about a 555 or 565. The 572 is a tall deck engine, requires specific intake, distributor, etc., and you might have header fitment problems. Plus, you can get as much or more performance out of a short deck 555. That GM engine hasn't shown to be anything special and makes mediocre power for it's size.
Where there's a will, a big honkin' shoe horn and huge tub of Vaseline, there's a way
