Air cleaner- 4 barrel carb to ls1 question anyone used a velocity stack type (retro) air cleaner on their carb conversion LS?
the one i had in mind is in the Summit racing website

comes with a 10" x6" filter. I like the look of this rather than a traditional pancake 14" round cleaner, or alternatively i'd go for an oval type cleaner.
just wondered if i'm likely to see any restriction using such a cleaner as opposed to more usual type? its going into a retro look 1960's kit car so the ram pipe stack would look cool at shows etc without the filter on it.
i'd obviously run the filter element when racing the car though!

If its a retro project then why do you care if it creates a little restriction? If that's the theme you want, and that adds to it, then continue with it...
