240 SX swap questions.
I just bought a 1995 240 sx and have a few ideas running through my head and wanted to get some feed back from you guys.
I plan on putting in a 5.3L LM7 that came out of my truck, gonna bore it out to 5.7 and try to make it a strong high compression N/A set-up as I can.
Questions are...
1) Motor plates, what drawbacks would using those have over regular motor mounts? Advantages?
2) Saw from a previous build that I'm looking at 56/44 weight distribution on the car if I do a direct swap. Anyone have differnent weight distribution numbers and if so how did you achieve them?
3) Transmission. Either gonna bolt up a T-56 or if I can I'd like to take a transaxle out of a vette and do that. Anyone ever do that before and suggestions? (As a plus if I ever go turbo I have plenty of room in the trans tunnel )
4) Dry sump...worth it if it's just gonna be a street car taken to road courses occasionally?
Thanks for the help, should be getting my car soon so I will start a thread once I get it and rip into it.

the only trans-axle swap I can think of is the civic. Thats the only one Ive seen using a whole corvette powertrain.

I dont know how much help that thread is gonna be since he mostly just cut the civic to fit onto the corvette stuff, but gives you an idea i guess. good luck.

Lol, yeah I saw that thread a while ago. He did an incredible job with it. Unfortunetly I don't have the whole chassis and powertrain to do what he did and honestly I don't think I want to do that...looks like a nightmare! Lol

1) pointless on a street car
2) weight distribution is the most worthless fact of a car ever. dont worry about it. the car will handle fine.
3) why bother with the vette rear, a t56 fits and works, just use that

It's gonna spend time as a DD and also at road courses a few times a year, not competitively but don't want it to handle so bad it spins out at every turn. But mostly street and occasional track days.

From what I understand they are good for strip and racing applications because they provide the better support(depending on how they are used) and also act as strut braces/bar and help reinforce the chassis in the process but the drawbacks are NVH which sucks for street driving.

But thanks bro!
I started this one before my car showed up at my house, started the other one once I had it in my possesion!
Maybe a mod could combine the two!?!
