Output shaft and extension housing lenght options 6L80 I'm not sure what this threat will become. Just answers to my spezific questions or a list of possible combinations?
Gameplan:
3rd Gen F-Body
yet undecided type of used 6L80 Trasmission
Close to factory look meaning the stock torque arm is attached to the stock bracket wich is hold by 3 provisons cast to the transmissions extension housing.
What i (assume to) know:
Only 1995 or later "6-Bolt to case" extensions will fit.
The bellhousing is easy to exchange. As long the Pump comes with it. Provided i find one without a whole tranny.
Changing the output shaft is a mess. Lots of special tools needed. Getting one used is close to imposible.
For how much do a new Bellhousing (big part, extra shipping costs, oh my goodness) in this case plus the parts to adapt the old Pump and/or a output shaft assembly, run?
The lenght of the stock torque arm is easy to change
To the core:
Wich Output shafts match with the stock 6-Bolt 4L60 F-Body (or similar with provisions for the torque arm)?
Is there a slide yoke that fits to the BMW Output shaft (provided lenght is fine)and the driv shaft?
Has it to be oil tight or just dust tight?
