Is your engine stock? Hard to tell from the video but it sounds like it's running in limp mode. Maybe it's just my crappy laptop speakers too..

Id guess timing also unless you really do have coils unplugged because it seemed like you couldnt keep it running unless you had partial throttle.

after further thinknig i believe i might have a couple of lifters not pumped up. the motor sat for about a year and a half and thats the first time it ran for more than 3 seconds. plus its real cold in my garage. it probably would have stayed running had i let it warm up but i dont have a radiator yet so i didnt want it to run long.

and that motor is nowhere near stock, it has more thna just heads and a cam, it went 11.20's in my buddies car but he built something faster thats how i got it. even in his car it didnt like to stay running until it ran for about 30 seconds or more.

it may be in some type of learn mode because it was tuned and this is the computer from when it was in that car (my friends now running a big stuff 3 so he didnt need the ecu) but like i said it hasnt run in a year and a half and i have seen one car i did a new intake gasket on (3.1 chev) and had the batt disconected for 2 days and when i fired it up it ran like poop for about 5 minutes and then it was like a switch was flipped and it ran perfect. so i guess once i get a radiator in there and can run it longer we'll see?

If you do not have exhaust on it yet and the 02's are installed in the headers the misfire coupled with no exhaust may be all it is. Get you some pipes on it if they aren't already both the 02's in and fire it up and let it run for a while. It may take the lifters awhile for they get limbered up again. It should smooth out after a while. Correction, did you flush the injectors or have they also been sitting that long. You may have an injector or two stuck. Might look into that also. It sounds good. There is no better feeling than to fire a project you have been slaving over. There are always bugs just gotta work through them.

-1 for computer relearn... if all the sensors are functional, it should fire up and idle fine no matter how long the PCM has been unplugged. My LS1's PCM been unplugged a bunch of times and I've never had to do more than push in the clutch and turn the key.

If it sat for a year and a half, you probably have some clogged injectors. Mine ran rough for about 5 seconds after it finally started before it smoothed out, and I attributed that to still having some air pockets in the fuel lines and rails. My engine had only sat for about 6 months though.

My sugesstion would be to first check the DTCs for any sensor problems, then check the injectors and make sure all of 'em are squirting.

Also even with dead lifters the motor will still hold compression and run but will tap a bit until they refill with oil. I had this problem when I ran into electrical issues that wouldnt allow the motor to start.

i thought lifters cuz i hear a tiny tapping sound and i drove the car into my garage when i pulled the motor out and it ran perfect. but i didnt think to check injectors. i'll have to check that out, thanks for the input guys.

and there is no pipes on her yet and only 1 o2 sensor (i have to lengthen the other one)
