Default swap help for ls1 in 97

i wreck my 01 ss and i bought a 97 v6 body. I already did everything swap everything over and the car runs. but the hood wont close because of the air lid. does anybody know what i can do to get the hood to close. i still have the stock 97 hood on there. would a ss hood clear the lid or ultra z hood. any help would be appreciated

I've seen one person do it. You can do a search and see if you can find it. I believe they had to trim the radiator shroud though. Most 93-97 LS1 swaps I've seen they use the stock LT1 style intake that goes down to the drivers side fender.

I believe you can use a GTO elbow from the TB to the MAF, the a regular LT1 style intake from the MAF to the filter. Or even use Fernco type tubing to custom make one.

Just a quick search. Top thread here has some good pics of various intakes and elbows. I read in one of the threads that a LT1 elbow will fit a LS1 TB, it just needs to be stretched into place.

If you are talking about the IAT sensor, I would say no, it don't matter. I've seen one guys swap on with a FAST 90 intake and he had that sensor in the EGR Port. Similiar to an LS6 intake it is blocked off, then just drill the proper size hole. I'm sure you could put it just about anywhere in the stream of air and you should be all right.
