Default 700-R4 to LSx Convertor Questions.

Hey Everyone.

Im looking to re-use my 700-R4 in my thirdgen for my LS swap.

IVe got a question in regards to convertors. I know if i re-use my stock one i need to space it backwards. However,

What if i used a stock 4L60e convertor with my 700R4? My tranny is a '89 so it should have the 30spline (i beleive 86 and earlier was 27, 87 and later was 30) Would this solve spacing problems?

If not, does anyone know how big a spacer bracket is? (thickness in inches)

Thanks so much!

The flexplate spacers are around .400 thick.

Thanks! Can anyone shed some light on the idea of using an LS1 convertor?

Pretty sure that it won't solve spacing issues. Just alignment issues(bolt pattern)

So, i put that behind my LS1 Flexplate, then bolt the convertor to the LS1 flexplate. Then mount up the tranny?

Then just grab a TV cable kit?

I dont understand how the Huges part works?Does it just extend the torque converters snout to engauge the transmissions front pump? Also does anyone have a TV bracket besides $treet and Performance? I really hate the chrome billet look.

the hughes spacer gets pressed into the back of the crankshaft, this extends the pilot hole in the crank far enough so the standard sbc style converter hub will slide into it,, this is all that is different from the ls1 to the standard chevy spacing

What type of throttle body are you using? If it's stock, with the small end plate, you can use the kit sold by Bowtie Overdrives.
