Default year one las1 engine mounts

will i have to cut the cross member on a 1980 t/a to fit the ac compressor and alt when using the year one conversion kit? and can i use the stock stearing set up with long tube headers?

i think that the year one mounts are brp mounts and yes if you want the a/c in the stock location you will heft to cut the frame. the alternator will fit just fine due to the design of the mounts,they do not bolt up, you position the stands to fit you liking and drill new holes in the frame, the stock gear box will work just fine no issues, nobody make long tube headers for 2nd gen f-cars that bolt in have seen ppl use 4th gen f-body headers and mod the driver side collecor away from the frame. I have the brp mounts on my 79z with a ls1-t56 and they fit very nice just need to hammer the tunnel just a bit (no big deal) hope this helps good luck with the swap

o'ya i think thatelderbrock is coming out with headers for the 2nd gens? keep youe eye out
