Default Ls1 conversion emissions

Hi guys,

For the poeple who have swapped an Ls1 in their v6 f-body, where you still able to pass emissions? How does somoene get around that? I have 94 v6 Camaro and any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on what state your are in.. many times you are requred to pass the smog test for the year and type of engine you have swapped in.. here in Calif.. you would be re-cert'd to be the LS1 V8 (VIN of the engine/ECM).

But if you have a stock (or mid) tune.. and all of the equipement, you should be able to pass.

Cool. Thanks bro! Yeah, I live in the only county in Indiana that requires emissions. Indiana sucks! haha

From what I have seen in IL they only care if you don't have a "check engine light" on. They don't use a sniffer here anymore. I had a 99 blazer pass with a hollowed out cat on it. It was reflashed to remove the O2 sensor.

ask a local inspection agent as the laws differ by sate. I know some states will allow a motor the was a original option be swapped into the car.
