Default Wrong cap sizes on U-Joint in 68 camaro on custom driveshaft?

I tried to install this yesterday in my 68, which has a custom driveshaft due to the 4l80e tranny and 14 bolt 9.5" rear end.
I got it from denny's. They assure me it is for the correct 1 1/8" cap size which I measured. They inform me that I just need to use a c clamp to compress the caps together and it will fit in. Can anyone confirm this method?

Looks like you need a crossover u joint 1310 to 1330, my 68 with a 12 bolt required one with my 3" alum drive shaft.

I think your problems are with your yoke. I dont see any ears on your yoke to center the u joint.

They mean to squeeze the caps together, don't use a c clamp to pull it into the yoke.

Is it that the cap is too larger in Diameter and will not fit into the yoke?. .remove the cap from the U-Joint and try and see if it well insert into the yoke by itself to verify. A tap with a Hammer might be needed, but should not take a lot of force but is likely to be a tight fit.

If the problem is issue due to the caps sticking out pass the Yoke, then yes, you can try and compress together to fit into the yoke. Grease and trapped air well sometime cuase it to not compress to the correct length to find into the yoke.

As ONyX711 stated/question. are you sure that you have the correct U-Joint(s) ?.. you might need the conversion one if not.
