Default Mustang swap times

I posted these times in my main build thread, but I thought I would start another one just to make it easier to keep track of.

I took the car out for the first time 2 weeks ago. The place was Freaking place was packed!! I was only able to make 2 run....45 min. in the staging lanes each time...screw that!

First run spinning badly in 1st was a 8.14 @87.77 with a nasty 1.92 60' .I was running 18 psi. in the tires, left at 3k and I forget to loosen up the struts.

Next pass was a 8.08 @89.72 still spinning badly to a 1.91 60'. 18 psi. struts on #2.(so I thought) Like an idiot I tightend them up instead of loosening them.

Nothing broke, so all in all everything went ok. Once I was able to get into 2nd the car felt very good. I know this thing has a good 2-3 tenths in it...maybe more. I want to play around with the air pressure and launching rpm's when its not so crowded .

I loaded the car up on the trailer and head down to Ware Shoals dragway this past weekend looken for 7's again.

After watching a few cars run ,I pulled mine into the staging lanes . I fired the car up and pulled forward a couple times. On the 3rd time I went to push in the clutch and felt a pop. I let off of the clutch and tried to push it in again .....nothing!

After pushing it to the side , I was praying that the master cylinder push rod just popped off of the ball joint.......but as my luck would have it , the master cylinder push rod had broke.

This is going to be a pita to fix. Not so much actually fixing the push rod, but getting to the damn thing is going to suck major ***.

I have been kicking around swapping in an Th-350 and just making it more of a track only car. I have a new th-350 with a trans brake laying in the garage floor. When the rod broke Sat. I was thinking seriously about going ahead and putting it in. But I think I'm going to hold off and just fix it for now.

I know , I know..lol....I change my mind more than I change my underwear .

I'm going to fix it. But that was the first thing that ran threw the empty space between my ears.
Besides it breaking, I was probably more pissed off that I didn't get any video footage of the car.

Yeah, cam only. It's a Lunati 60512 if I'm not mistaken. Keep in mind this is a full weight coupe plus a 6 point cage.

Lol Call me first. I might want to steal some parts off of it.

If I can get this thing into the 7.60/7.70 range on motor with the current tune ,I will be happy.
I do need to pick up an LS6 intake and get it on a dyno for a tune. I'm curious to see what I will pick up over the mail order tune thats in it now.

Do you know the specs on that cam? When all said and done I hope to have my car in the 2600-2700lb range with 10 point. I hope to be in the area of some 10.50-10.90's area on the motor after everything gets lined out tuning and suspension wise..

if you can shift you should run 7.60s. my car has so far ran a best of 7.50/11.77 and there is still room for improvement on the sixty footer(1.69 on that pass on a nitto 245/45/17 DR). mine is a 98 motor/trans, TSP225, Yank 3600, 3.73 gear with exhaust.

I was able to make a few more runs last Thursday night. All in all it was a better night.

1st pass 7.94 @ 90.5 with 1.79 60' (spinning bad)

2nd pass 7.91 @ 90.6 with 1.78 60' (still spinning)

3rd pass 7.91 @ 90.5 with 1.78 60' (yup, still spinning)

4th pass was a 7.89 (no mph) 1.77 60' (you guessed it)

Keep in mind this is all on the stock rear susp. . I did buy a set of Megabite jr. lower control arms, CHE doudle adjustable uppers and a set of 50/50 rear shocks over the weekend.

I hope I can get them installed on the car this comming week. If it would 60' in the low 1.6/high 1.5's I would be freaking tickled.

btw, look at this video....notice how much the rear is squatting ....ick

Gotta love WS!!
Do you go out to Greer or up to shady side any?

Good luck with it! I have my own swap to test out in the next couple of weeks.

Ah, lol...I honestly hate Greer Dragway. I would have to say that Ware Shoals is probably my favorite. But Greer is only about 15 min. from my house.

GM_Guy, I know if I got the weight down it would run a ton better. This car is a full weight coupe plus a 6 point cage and my near 290 lbs **** sitting in it lol.

I'm also curious how much I will pick up with a dyno tune....I know there has to be more let in it.
