Default adding pins to harness

Well, it turns out my harness that was supplied with my engine/trans combo does not match the setup. The Engine is a 99/00 LS1 with 4L60e trans, but I think I have a 98 PCM with a manual trans harness. I have the harness fixed up to the engine, with everything shortened/removed for a non EGR car etc... but I need to add pins to the PCM plugs for the auto trans functions. Can this be done, if so how easy is it to remove or add pins. I have some that are deleted, can I pull those out and move them?

Looking at the plugs, I have to remove the hold down bolt retainer first, but is everything after that easy? I don't wanna damage anything. Anyone got pics of the plugs taken apart?

Duane,

No sweat man, its really easy to pull and replace the pins. I had to add pins to my truck harness for the fans, and I deleted all A/C and smog stuff.

Carefully remove the plastic cover and gently lift the tang that holds the pin, push the pin out the back of the connector. Do you know how many pins you need? I have all the stuff I removed, prolly about 6 or so...they are yours if you need them.

Here is a source for some of the connectors that you will need. There are 4 connectors on the trans. The main connector for all your internal solenoids(big round one), VSS, and 2 on the PRND switch.

Man do I feel stupid. I thought I would have to remove the pin holder to access clips to add/remove pins.

I went out this morning after ready your response Jack, removed the colored (blue/red) covers and there's the clips. Doh. I think I have plenty of pins also, so shouldn't need any either, but will let you know if I do. I have a new main plug for the Trans, still have the VSS and will wire the PNP swtich up to the new shifter (should be here today).

On a side note, my headers came back from Jet Hot...damn they look good.
