Default LS1 valley cover/knock sensor - any need for them?

i dont run knock sensors in my ls1 conversion, and last week one of the seals decided to leak oil all over the place. i've stripped off the valley cover, and removed the seals. anything stopping me just getting the holes plated over at the top to make it a fully flat valley cover plate?
cheers

GM already thought of that Just get a cover from a LS2 - no holes.

LS2 uses a different bolt pattern/gasket. Make your own out of flat stock.
