just for the record i wrote a tune using the 09 caddy ctsv operating system and it seem to have worked. ive got a couple communication codes for abs and bcm (despite the fact ive disabled those codes, must be coming from the tcm) however no more u0100 and the transmission says its in 1st gear instead of 3rd. a win there. however i cant get the thing to run long enough to actually do anything with it. the car fires ok, runs for a few seconds, idle drops and i get no throttle response and it dies.

Glad you got the communication problem fixed. By the way do you have a 120 ohm resistor across the GMLAN wires at the ALDL socket?

So is this trans worth the trouble or better off with a 4l60 or 80?

I think it is. As with anything new there is a learning curve. The lesson from this is it is better to have the motor and transmission from the same car and have the ECM to go with it. If not then you need to do some research or ask questions.

2009 CTSV donor: Modified LSA engine with head, cam, injectors, P&P snout and mass air flow, pulleys to generate more boost. Same donor car provided GM 6L90e transmission. We have the ECM and TCM from the CTSV donor car.

Installing into a 67 corvette restomod:
2009 LSA modified engine
2009 6l90e 6-speed automatic
Tap UP Tap Down shifter (not paddle shifting)
2009 Corvette Dash and instrument gauges, no harness

Any Programmers ready to work?

Hasn't been said in a while but this is a great thread.

I will be stuffing a LY6 and 6L90e into my '85 Cutlass. The best part is after I sell the rest of the parts off the doner 2008 GMC 2500HD I will not only have made my money back, getting a free complete engine, trans and wiring, but will also make some money to fund the swap.

This thread has a lot of good into and confirmed a few things with will definitely make my swap a lot easier.

Thanks rsz288

This thread helped me decide weather or not to use the 6L90 for my 6.2L swap in my 68 C10. I already got the 2wd rear tail housing for it but it is pretty big and there is 2 different tail shafts you can get. So I might try the 6L80 tail housing. I think the TU/TD feather will be nice for playing on the streets.

Any new options for a shallow 6L90 pan or do you still have to mod the G8 pan??

Buddy is swapping 6L90E into 1969 Camaro, stock pan hangs too low. Is the G8 pan with the extension welded on the best way to go?

It has been awhile since I looked into this but at the time yes it was the way to go.

I haven't found a better/easier answer to this one, but open to ideas.

Exactly. The only possible option, not yet checked out, is whether Holden runs the deep pan on their 6L90E A6 LSA equivalent of the Chevy SS. The shallow 6L80E pan was made for the Holden/G8/Chevy SS model line.
