Current Performance makes the wiring harness and engine mounts you need. If you plan on sticking with your trans, if you have an auto, you'll have to change the input shaft. it'd be easier to just put in an LS style 4L60e. You can try www.coloradofans.com but it's mainly ricer stuff they talk about. LS1Blazer on here has done it, but is sketchy about details.

ttt please. so im going to be getting a ls1 from my buddys 99 z28 and i have seen a few other threads on here about this and seems they are using a 4wd truck and mine is 2wd. i will be looking into current performance for the harness work and headers. i will be sticking with my auto and guess ill be swapping myshaft and housing to a v8 truck type? any help will be great ive seen the v8s10s and dont think he is willing to give his secret so unless i get help off here looks like im on my own. thanks

Should be a bolt in swap since you can get a LH8 5.3L in them now! Mounts, oil pan, hoses, rad., and rest of the stuff!
Might want to swap to a V8 4l60 as the the 5 or 4 cyl most likly won't take the v8 power. I think the rear ends might be differnt as well. But the bell housing swap would be cheap and easy as least till you brake it!!! Lol...

You can use the 99z accessories. Just put a trans out of an camaro or trans am in the car. You can get the used trans for the same price you'll spend finding an input shaft and bellhousing. The Colorado's have an 8" rear if I remember correctly.
