t56 hose connector on pass side

Default t56 hose connector on pass side
The t56 I have in my '55 has what looks to be a hose connector high on the pass side of the tranny. Is this a vent or vacuum port and what should it be connected to? Thanks.

It is a vent tube, it should have a little baffle on the end.
