I run 3.73 in mine and love them! With a 275/40/17 tire I turn about 1650-1700 rpm's at 70 mph . I average around 20-23 mpg in mixed driving conditions. On a 1/8th mile track, I go through the traps in 3rd at about 6100 rpm .

I wouldn't hesitate running anything from a 3.73 to a 4.10, with a T56 and a 25.5" tire. My RX7 had 4.10 gears with a 25" tire and that was fine on the highway. Another RX7 that I built had 3.55 gears and I always wished it had more gear.

Start in second for daily driving. I would guess that you couldn't go wrong with 3.73 or 4.10's. If it were mine project I would leave the 4.30's until I decided they were a huge problem (this coming from a guy that had a daily driver with 4.56's and no overdrive for 2+ years).

gears
well for my 69 I had built the rear end with 3.42s - that was when I was going to run an auto and now I have changed to a M6 so later I may do 3.73 but rear was allready built, I can live with that for now. if you cam it up going to lower gear will be easier starting off, 3.73-4.10 are great with the double overdrive

I have a 3.73 in my '68 right now with 27" rear tires. It feels like it could definately use more gear--at least 4.10.
(on the other hand, this is coming from someone running a 4.10 in his daily driver '00 'stang GT with a stock motor and T45... AND getting better mileage with the 4.10 than he did with the 3.08)
