Default PCM red connector pin 53

I have a few "guides" for wiring my 2002 LS1 in my 1990 Nissan 240sx. One of them said to remove pin 53 of the red PCM connector but my other guides don't say to do this. They say it's for Spark Retard Signal. Now, I already removed it so hopefully it's not something I need but I have a feeling it is. So, is it?

Since you haven't told us what the harness is from I guessed at it being from a Camaro. C2 CKT 53 is the Igntition Retard Signal, gray/black wire. Put it back in.

Yeah, it's from a 2002 Camaro. What exactly does it do?

This link in the sticky is where I saw to cut that wire. https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/312119-ls1-swap-faqs.html

Ok, it seems that wire goes to C101 pin K. So that would mean I wouldn't hook it up anyway if it just goes between the PCM red connector and C101.

Ok, sorry for so many posts, but I figure anything I find might be of use to someone else.

That wire is for the TCS ignition retard signal, as in it is only useful if you are using the traction control system which I'm obviously not. So it's not needed.

You don't need that pin it's for the traction control which you are not using. Go somewhere and buy a tube of silicone sealer for sealing bath tubs that has the spout you can cut and then fill in the empty pin hole with it and forget about it.
