Default LS1/LT1 Into a 82-91 Camaro???

Hey Guys I am posting this for my friend and was wondering if an LS1 or LT1 would fit into an older Camaro? He has a chance to buy a wrecked car that has an LT1 or LS1 not sure which and wanted to drop that motor into his Camaro 82-91 Year range. Will this work and bolt up or there will have to be some modifications made to make it all bolt up? Has anyone does this yet? His camaro now has a 5 speed in it. Any help would be great thanks guy.

LT1 is a old style Small Block (or really close) and the LS1 is a much more involved swap.

LT1 is Gen II and will drop right in without many changes except what is needed to run, most of the Accessories and connections should be able to swap or adapter from the Gen I engine (is it a V8 or V6 ?)

Gen III/IV engines will fit with some adapter and other mod's but nothing that is now done a lot.. swap info can be researched here not this forum or some of the F-Body Forum (ThirdGen.Org and hawksthirdgenparts.com are two comon Gen 3 F-Body site to research on).

Thirdgen.org is where you should be. Lots of info on lt1 swap over there. I'm in the process of doing a 5.3 lm7(ls-based engine) in my 87. Check it out its in the conversion forum here. Leave feedback on what you think.

Found a link for you.
