Default VSS Hook up

I just finished swapping a LT1 iron headed motor from my old 94 Caprice into my 87 Chevy 4wd. Motor runs good with no issues. I don't have the VSS hooked up yet and I really can't notice it but I'd like to hook it up anyways.

Id like to use the factory VSS module from the truck. Its a 2000 pulse per mile setup, 3 wire hookup. It gets a 12V IGN feed, chassis ground, then a signal to the PCM. The LT1 PCM is a two wire hookup with both wires going/coming from the PCM. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of how to wire this up? I'm guessing the factory truck one just sends pulses to the computer. How does the later LT1 style do it?

I've seen the pieces Dakota Digital offers. If I can figure out how to wire the factory one into the LT1 PCM, I can use it. I've already programmed the PCM for the proper pulse rate, its just a matter of wiring it up.

How does the factory unit regulate pulses?
