Hey guys, dissasembling my first genIII to send to machine shop. It is a '01 LQ4 w/ #317 alum. heads. I have everything apart/off but I can not get the heads off. I have removed all 10 headbolts + the 3 little 10MM bolts near the intake and even with some soft prying these heads wont budge. I tried tapping a screwdriver between the heads & block but it starts to score the aluminum.
Am I missing something or is there a trick to these? Thanks for the help!

Take a piece of wood and set it against the heads and smack the wood with a hammer so you don't damage the heads.

There are five 10mm bolts up on the top side.

LoL I've never had the heads off in my car so I thought he'd be good with the head bolts out.
