Default New Swap Idea-Weird-Dumb-Just Plain Cool

I have always liked things that were different. I love 69 Camaro's, especially convertibles but I cannot afford one and sell parts for them everyday, so I really want something totally different.

A few years ago I was at the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge and saw a mint original AMC Pacer for sale. I didn't buy it and have been wanting a nice Grandma looking Pacer ever since.

How bad *** would it be with this car running an LS-1 and 6Spd set-up and not even touching the interior or body! Talk about something different.

I just have no clue if the engine and tranny would even work. I know nothing about these cars!

Not exactly, but close. I think the Gremlin has less glass.

Actually, the Gremlin is more squared off, & was made from around 1970 to about '74 or so (going from memory on these dates).

The Pacer was the follow-up to the Gremlin, & was made from like '75 to '77 or so...

Here's the Gremlin:

And here's the Pacer (which I always called "the rolling fishbowl"):

It would definitely be an unusual swap (& likely not too hard, since they came w/ V-8s), but you'd probably get a pretty decent power-to-weight ratio out of it...

Here's a pro-touring Pacer: http://www.mopacer.com/
It doesn't have an LSx tho!
