Question Looking to put a 53. or and LS3 in to a 97 Toyota Carolla

I know this sounds crazy but this car was giving to me and I have lots of LSX parts left. I have a ls3 engine that I just pulled out of a Cadi. I was leaning on the 5.3L that comes in the Impala SS due to it having a front wheel drive setup. Would it be possible to put the 5.3 in this little car or the LS3?

Well its not the LS3 but it has the 6.2 motor with the L92 heads out of a Escalade.

Can this be done with so little engine space?

LS3 and LS4 blocks are the same size. LS4 crank has a shorter snout and flange on the crank for a total 1" shorter crank, but keeps the same bore spacing as the LS3.

whip out the tape measure, stupid. that's the only way to be able to tell. I doubt seriously that anyone has done this.

consider converting it to RWD, th350 and you're going to need a completely custom front suspension, if not reinvent the entire front of the car + create a new firewall.

if you're asking questions like the ones you're asking "will it fit" and don't have the common sense to just go measure the motor, measure the tranny tunnel (if there is one even, i've never been under a corolla) and measure the motor stuff out of the fwd car you're pulling the 5.3 from. see if there is enough room in the engine bay, if not figure out if there's enough room after you start hacking stuff apart and figure out how expensive it will be to fabricate a front end.

you will regret seriously leaving it fwd, RWD is the only way to go with a car like that if you don't want it to torque steer into the most readily accessible wall.

Let's take it easy fellas.

Back to the original question... Is it possible? Anything is possible with enough fabrication work and an unlimited budget. Is it easily done? Probably not. Can you do it? Only you know your skills and budget so only you can answer that question.
