98 LS1 into 79 Chevy Impala
#107
I'm working on a 78 Impala Landau that I acquired in Feb 14. So far the plan is to put an LSA E-Rod connect and cruise which won't happen till next year. I either have to go on another deployment to finance that or work hella overtime. Work done on it so far is Eibach 96 Impala SS springs, Hotchis/Bilstein shocks, Hotchkis front and rear anti-sway bars, Hotchkis upper and lower control arms for the rear. The suspension parts are all for a 96 Impala. A 96 Impala rear end with Moser axles and driveshaft. The rotors had to be redrilled because I wanted to use 5x4.75 wheels. I also have 18" Cragars on it. The front brakes are 12" Wilwood with a Wilwood MC and proportioning valve. The rear discs are OEM 96 Impala. The interior is going to get bucket seats off a 82 Buick Regal, a repro console for a Firebird, a B&M Quicksilver Floorshifter for a Firebird, a VHX instrument cluster, and a 88 Monte Carlo SS steering wheel.
The exterior will have a combination of 77 Caprice grill, and bumper, and 79 Impala fender extensions, header panel and headlight doors. I'm getting the landau top redone like it came from the factory. Black top, and original silver paint.
The parts I still need to collect before I purchase the LSA/trans are a Griffin Radiator for LS Swap, a Rick's Tank with a Vaporworx opening because the LSA requires a ZL1 fuel pump, ZL1 fuel pump and a Borla cat back exhaust for a 96 Impala. I'm getting the E-Rod because I'm in California.

Weird, this build did get finished, but not as planned. Instead it got an E-Rod LS3, Recaro bucket seats, a console and shifter from a Monte Carlo SS. Front brakes got upgraded to 6 piston Wilwoods on 13" rotors, hydro boost brakes, front suspension is Viking coilovers. Rims are 20" Chevy Rallye repro from American Racing in black. It has a 79 front clip as well. The rest of the build remained the same.
