Being a 70 it would have had a TH350 or TH400 which is shorter than the 4L60E. Im sure that the transfer case will need to be moved. I cant remember the name of the companies but there are companies that make kits to adapt to the 205. I had a 78 k10 I was interested in swapping a 4L60E into, I never got a chance but now i am looking for a 69-75 k10 to buy.
As for the driveshafts, it shouldnt cost much to lenghen or shorten them.If you plan on lifting the truck it would need done anyway.
Post up some pics, those trucks are awesome!

I am planning a similar swap with similar specs. The swap is what prompted me to join here. I have a 1972 GMC Jimmy with a 350/350/205. I want to swap to a 5.3/4L60/205. Advance adapters makes an output shaft
HERE that is the correct length when you use this 6 bolt to 4 bolt adapter on the 4L60
HERE With these parts the 4L60 is the same length as a 700R4 which is 1 7/8 inches longer than the TH350 (so I have been told by advance adapters). By using these parts I plan on moving my engine 1 7/8 inches forward leaving my NP205 in the stock location with no changes to TC shifter or my new driveshafts (within the last year).
I plan on using a 2WD 4L60 at first and just having a new rear driveshaft built while I work on the swap and work out any bugs I may encounter. Over time I will rebuild my NP205 and adapter and find a bad 4L60 to have rebuilt. It could be a year or two for the second part of my swap? Not made of money you know!
My Jimmy is 90% restored and the floor is lined. I didn't want to cut my floor for moving the shifter if I move the 205 back or if I went to a 241? My speedometer is cable driven and I don't want to get into any of that either. I have been reading a bunch of forums and websites trying to get all my information before buying the engine/transmission. If anyone notices any thing I have overlooked or am wrong about please speak up!
I hope the OP chimes in and has some info! Still looking for crossmember/mount info.
