dont forget the cost of the car....and most expensive of them all.....the fabbing and gauges. all aftermarket gauges for mph, temp, volt, ect.
also, radiator, fans, hoses, fuel lines, motor mounts, driveshaft.......the list goes on forever. you are far from 1-2 items away, you are about 4k away.

i put a price up there for gagues.

radiator and fan i did forget about that. figure that would cost about 400
hoses can be part of what i said would be random stuff there cheap
driveshaft yeah i did forget that too. figure that will be about 300-500 or so

I think adding 4k to the price is a reasonable outlook. I'm about to start my build and will be broke dick until the fall. Nothing like Roman Noodles for a couple of months to help appreciate the accomplishment of having a kick *** money pit that will only be worth 1/2 of what you put into it when your done.

DO NOT i repeat DO NOT get the AJE k-member. My buddy is doing a fox body LS1 right now and he ordered their k-member, and it was complete junk! He waited for months for it, and once he got it, the welds were complete crap, the bolts were not long enough, the slots were cut crooked, etc. etc. etc. My buddy is a certified welder, and a long time mechanical engineer. He said their k-member was crap. And when he sent it back, they charged him a 20% restocking fee on top of everything! There are so many flaws in that overpriced POS, and the manufacturer is absolute @$$holes to deal with!
And ya know what, the 'E' in AJE stands for Engineering. This means that BY LAW they MUST have a certified professional engineer on their staff. My buddy called them and asked to talk to the PE and they either didn't have one, or would not let him talk to him. The issues on that k-member are not "engineered" I can guarantee you that! When a bolt is too short, it puts threads in shear- that is an absolute no-no and would get any manufacturer sued for such practices. That k-member was not engineered, it looks like it was slapped together by billy bob half way drunk.
There are other ways to mount an LS1 engine to the stock k-member. I'd look into doing that...

you will most likly need a tubular kmember but i have a QA1 kmember for a 4.6 with stock A arms. you just drill an additional hole and the mounts bolt right up.
