Default LS1 into 84 vette need info-wiring harness,ect

I'm putting a LS1 motor in my 84 vette. The current motor is a crossfire injection and with the new motor I will need all new wiring harness. My biggest concern is to keep the digital dash and other electrical gages working. Has any one done this?

I don`t know if anyone has done that yet, but it should be doable. Just run the sending units (oil, water, etc) off the old motor (use metric to american adapters to thead them in) and then change the tach output in the LSx computer. If the vette has an electronic speedo it should be pretty painless to do. If it has a mechanical speedo it will require a bit more effort.

Just more money (a CableX box), but not much more effort.

You can also go the cheap way like I did and put the guts of an electric speedo behind your factory speedo face.

Corvette Enthusiast magazine did a whole write-up on installing an LS2 in an 84 or 85 Vette a few months ago. Since it is very much the same except for the Throttle Body, you might see if you can get one of those issues.
