Default 5.3 starts but wont run?

tried to fire the 5.3 today (01 tahoe motor) and it fires for liek a half a second and dies instantly??? cant figure this one out.

checked so far:

coils have 12 volts

injectors have 12 volts

checked grounds (all i beleive)

crank sensor good (reads rpm for a second when fires)

and the maf is not on the motor but it should still fire without it, right? my
ls1 in my 68 casmaro fired without the maf.

so i'm tring to think of stuff that could let it fire but not run.
anyone got an idea?

trucks have a serial data version of VATS. it must be deleted from the computer for the motor to run. The old style f-body VATS can be bypassed with a box, the trucks cannot, it must be deleted.

i havent put up any pics yet im still sorting out little details might be done after school today.

i found a shop about an hour south of me that plugged it in to their efi live setup and in fifteen minutes they deleted everything we wanted, changed the tire size and gear ratio an it was 150.00.

its nice kuz its all country roads to get there so we took the bikes.

thought we were going to be done last night and get to drive it but the trans wont go into gear, the indicator light on the dash doesnt show it going into any of the drive gears so we may have broke that little black box on the side of the trans. thats it and it will drive.
