Default finding a LS1

I'm thinking of buying a cheap 240sx or something and putting an LS1 into it for a fun weekend and track car. Where would a good place to look for a cheap LS1 and t-56 with less than 75k?

Try to find someone that crashed their car, and is now parting it out.

If you're careful and do your research ebay can be a good place, they used to be cheaper, but you should be able to find a ls1/t56 combo for aroudn $5k, plus shipping (depends where you/the engine are but it can easily run another $400-500)
a couple sellers i have seen with engines,
fparts, ls1_z28 , i got my engine from the latter, he was cool to deal with and i think i got a good deal low mileage too, i never had any luck with local yards for engines
good luck

I got my 2001 LS1 on Ebay complete with harness, pcm, and all for $710. It had a smashed oil pan so it was a gamble but it all worked out fine. Got my D&D 30 spline T56 from here on the boards for $1400 with the flywheel, clutch, and hydraulics. There are deals to be had.

I would do a foxbody stang swap. 240 swap would be cool though.

I like the foxbody swap because in the end you get a good engine, good transmission, and a good rear end.
