i got a great deal on 2 predator carbs, i knew of a couple cars that had them many years ago and they were quick then, i figured why not give them a try, i need to make sure it is going to work fine because i will need to get a cowl hood to be able to use a air cleaner with the predator because it is 2" taller than a holley/demon carb

so far it is unbelievable how responsive this carb is and i havent even rebuilt it, i just took it apart and cleaned the gunk out of it, i have a kit coming so i can do a full rebuild on one of the carbs and plobly sell the other one.

best running, throttle response carb ive seen,, you need to read the predator manual several times to fully understand how to tune/set up the carb,, really only 3 main adjustments,,, idle speed, idle rich lean screw, and the tension screw for the air/fuel control flaps

so now i have to order my cowl hood so i can put an air filter on it

What kind of timing curve did you use? I built the same engine for my 68 c10 but I have not finished it yet.

I think I'm gonna go look for a Predator and give it a try too. I had strongly considered one while I was building my truck, but I chickened out at the last minute. Nice truck bro.

Jay,I read that article by carcraft you sent to retro1977. Did you notice in the pics when they checked the piston to valve clearence the pistons looked like flat tops.My stock LQ4 has dish. I thought the LQ9 had flat tops?Either i,m confused, or they think they have a LQ4.
