Default Energy Suspension "Preload Plate"?

I just got my motor mounts, LS1 adapter plates and Poly engine-block mounts in the mail.

I put them together just now and the Energy Suspension Poly mounts come with a "Preload Plate" and it says you HAVE to use it.

Problem is, when you try to sandwich the plates in there, there is no recess in the LS1 plates to allow the indention to sit into and mount everything flush.

Has anyone had a problem leaving the preload plates out?

Dan

if you are bolting the Poly mounts directly to the adapter plate, you will not need the pre-load plates.. As the adapter plate will act as the pre-load plate instead.

But you will need to cut a hole/slot in the adapter plate so that the energy Suspension poly mount that has that bump on the back side will be able to indent into the adapter plate.

Thanks for the info. Would it be sensible to just shave the nub off the bottom of the ES mount so it mounts flush to the LS1 plate?

if your going to go through that trouble (not much) just use an angle grinder and grind a receiving groove in the adapter plate, thats what i did.
