i'm about to do a 6.0 - 4l80e swap in a my dads '94 rcsb..
custom wiring harness made is going to be about $650

you can also look on ebay for motor mounts that run about $80..should be starting this in about 3 weeks.

Anybody? My 95 just started with a little rod knock on cold startup, so looks like a 5.3 will br going in when it comes out of storage next spring. Main things i'm wondering is if there is any easy way to reuse the tranny in it (without hard to find adaptors), and how i can hook it up so all my factory gauges will work.....anybody?

i am doing a swap myself if i think you might be able to use your old tranny unless its a stick then the adapters are outrageous i made my motor mounts by welding stock truck motor mounts (uppers) to a peice of plate drilled to match the block holes. i purchased my completly new wiring harness on ebay and it looks great and they turned the vats off the computer and set limiter for around 525 very cheap

Is the wiring harness custom made for the truck?

Wiring harness just a plug-and-play? Do you happen to have the name of the seller? I'm kind of guessing for the gauges i'll just have to look at some diagrams and splice into a few wires to get the right stuff working.

fuelinjectionconnection.com i do no know if anyone make a vehicle specific engine swap kit mine has about 5 or 6 wires to hook up if you can make your stock tranny work you would only need a temp guage and an oil pressure guage if you buy a motor with a harness you can send it off and there is some guys moddding stock harnesses for even cheaper
