Default Custom Air Intake Plumbing,,, Post Your Pics

Just like the title says, let's see some pics of those custom air intake systems. Give a brief description of what you used, size of hose and where you got the parts etc. I want to get some more ideas on where to locate the MAF and air filter for my conversion.

So let's see your custom air intake plumbing pics.

I have all 4" pipe and an 85 mm MAF, with a 90* straight off the TB and another 90 down to the MAF which is connected to the filter.

I don't think you'll have room for all that in an F-Body though. The RX7 has a much bigger engine bay.

I have a chevelle so.. lot of room.. you may get something like it to work on a F-Body with a Cowl Hood ..

https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/643850-chevelle-cowl-induction.html

I used 90 elbow out of the T/B 4" to 3 1/2" to the MAF and then all 3 1/2" with another 90 and 45 elbow to my custom Air box/clean that seals to the Cowl hood and only draw air from the low pressure Cowl area.. and not any hot air from the engine bay.

Here is mine in a 47 Chevy. Hoses and the tube are all 4" with a K&N Filter.

This is just the start of assembly, car is at body shop getting a bunch of work done.

I did a dual filter intake thru the front head lights. I originally wanted to do a Y tube with dual filters directly off the MAF. They have nice chrome ones on e-bay dirt cheap but I could not make that design fit the space. I ended up using assorted Lowes sewage piping and a coupler from JTR with some other eBay goodies and was able to get it plumbed. Turned out nice after I painted the pvc flat black. I am really amazed how much suction I get at the head light cones when I open the throttle.

I started with a Weiand manifold. Flipped it backwards, cut off the TB mount and fabricated the aluminum runner. This allows me to have a functional ram air hood scoop.
