Very nice work. Looks great all laid out like that too. Did you do your homework on turbo matching? i.e. map your engine on the compressor map?

Thanks for the compliments!

Yes I did do a lot of my own research on the turbo stuff, including calculating the pressure ratio & mass flow of air and plotted that on the Turbonetics TC76 compressor map, and it looked like it'd work. I then asked the very open "what turbo should I use??" question to a handful of the turbo guys on this forum as well the Turbonetics tech line, and all said that for my power requirements and usage plan, a TC76 or T76 with a 0.81 or preferrably a .96 A/R ratio. It was nice to have my own research backed up with their expertise.

Stats:

- 3200 lb street car
- 550 rwhp through stock T56, with 6-7psi and boost by 2500 rpm
- 100% driver car, not going to launch this thing hard off the line, only rolling "starts"
- good mid- to low-rpm boost response but without always being in it, don't want to burn through too much gas

Setup so far:

- Turbonetics TC76 with F1 wheel, 0.96 A/R, BNIB off this forum - $1000
- Tial 38mm wastegate - $220 off Craigslist
- GReddy 40mm blow off vale - $120 off Craigslist
- LS3 Camaro exhaust manifolds, new - $80 off eBay
- Columbia Mandrel Bends Ultimate Builder Kit (2.5" mild steel) - $114
- Columbia Mandrel Bends V-Bands (x4) - $120
- Columbia Mandrel Bends 2.5" stainless flex pipe - $20
- LS3 Corvette fuel injectors, 42lb-hr - $220 off this forum
- Adjustable boost-referenced FPR - ~$200, still haven't gotten yet
- generic 24"x12"x3" intercooler - $60 off Craigslist
- still need to get aluminum piping and mild steel downpipe and y-piping - ~$300

Total: ~$2600 so far (including stuff that I still need to get in near future)

For anyone who wants to know what 18's look like on a 3rd gen... Mind you I think I'll have to lower the rear another inch and a bit, to get the lip just barely tucked...

Whats your rear suspension specs? I find this picture real hot! Also the tig and fabrication work looks amazing.

Those wheels look great. What brand are they? Widths an offsets? Do you have the mini tubs in or are you using stock tubs?

Nevermind I looked back through your post and found the information on number #44. Thanks anyway! They would look great on my 69 Camaro. I would like to know if those are factory tubs if you dont mind me asking.

Thanks!

Yes they're factory wheeltubs for now. I want to see how low I can go with a 275 tire before stuff starts rubbing. I want to get it driving with the front end/engine done, and just drive the leafs for a bit. Then possibly do a mini-tub, 4 link (or secret IRS) and the quarterpanel body work within the next couple years after abusing it on the road for a while.

Your spacers must have the 114mm bolt pattern. I didnt find them to have a 120mm available in the 18's. Are your wheels 120mm bolt pattern?

When I was running stock GM stuff, I had 5x4.75" (hub side) to 5x4.5" (wheel side) spacers for the front and rear wheels.

Since the front Wilwood hubs have both patterns drilled in them, and they supposedly move the hub faces outboard 0.75", then I'm just going to use slip-on spacers on long studs in the 5x4.5" bolt pattern for the front, and then do the same in the rear (get some stronger aftermarket axles that either come with 5x4.5" pattern, or have them drilled for them).

It took me a long time to find wheels I liked for my price range, so I'm gonna try as hard as I can to keep these Axis Penta wheels on the car... plus the gunmetal grey centers match my racing stripes perfectly

Thanks man!

A couple people have told me they look too "ricey", and I wasn't sure if my opinion was blurred because I'm also into imports, but I think they give the right amount of musclecar aggressiveness as well as modern styling.

Joe, you're going to try to push 550 whp through 42 lb injectors??? Per the RC link in the Injector section, those injectors will support about 550 at the crank NA, and even less FI. I'd seriously consider getting a hold of a sponsor or two to ask what size you need for your power goals.

I originally got those injectors last summer when I was planning on getting a boost-referenced fuel pressure regulator, and having the fuel pressure ramp up with the boost pressure. I haven't thought about it much since, but I do remember not being sure if that's the right route or just to go bigger injectors & 100% computer tuning. Also on the fence about MAF vs. speed density tune. I want it to be simple.....

I used to hate big/modern wheels on muscle cars, but nowadays I've been seeing them so much they're starting to grow on me. Those look good. What size are those front tires & wheels?

Joe, my 52# injectors are available. Have maybe 500 miles on them. I guess I need bigger ones. Only hitch is they are LS2 style.

For a clutch pedal I'm using a clutch pedal & brake pedal from a 240SX (go figure eh). The clutch pedal is actually kinda cool, it has a pair of springs on it that are on a cam that help to pull the pedal back when untouched, but after a certain amount of pedal throw they assist the pedal pushing in.

Mark... I might just go for those. LS2 style doesn't matter so much, I'd have to re-wire the truck harness plugs anyways and figure out spacers to the fuel rails for whichever way I go. I'll read a bit and let you know... are you likely to get rid of them real soon? They're the ones that you ran with the supercharger setup? I'm in Van now, will call you and meet up this week to discuss.
