Default first gen camaro gas pedal, take 2

I'm running a repop '69 6-cyl cable-style throttle pedal assembly (Ricks PT-92). The other day I noticed my throttle pedal had some side-to-side play in it, and figured either the e-clip had come off or the bolts were lose. It was neither... turns out the bracket is cracked in half! Anyone else doing a first gen swap beware, as this is a giant pain to replace with the engine installed!

Any suggestions on what to replace it with? Will a '67 metal bracket work (Ricks PT-89) with the 69 pedal arm on my 68 firewall? Or should I go with a generic Lokar pedal? I've read bad things (flimsy) about the Camaro-specific Lokar pedal that mounts to the original bracket location.

Whatever I put back in there, it isn't going to be another repop plastic bracket!

I could get my hands dirty and lay up a little carbon fiber bracket tho...
