Default 99 Wrangler LS1

I swapped a 2000 LS1/4l60e into my 99 Wrangler. I've driven it for about 5 months and everything is good except for annoying knock on cold start up.

I've decided to pull the LS1 and put in a low mileage 5.3 for the winter and rebuild the LS1 over the winter.

I am going to use all the accessories off the LS1 including the intake and put them on the 5.3.

I know I need to drill and tap the block for the alternator. Anything else need to change?

Will the 4l60e bolt right up? Do I need a 2004 5.3 flex plate or the 2000 LS1 flex plate.

I'd like to think of it like swapping a long block.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks

Default

If your using the 5.7 PCM you need to change eng size to 5.3 in your tune for fuel mapping and such. I would use a 5.3 PCM if you got one with the eng so you don't have to change the hundred different little airflow and such settings.

Default LS1 to 5.3

Would a 6.0 be any better in regards to just plug it in and run and let the computer relearn?
