Default Just picked up a 99 TA Vert DD

99 TA A4 Just picked it up. I've had 8 forth gens but this is my 1st Vert.

It was bone stock when i got it. In the past week i have lowered it, added the wheels, change the exhaust, 226/232 .588/.598 cam, new black top, and a lid. Considering a 2800 stall and a WS6 hood.

What do ya think so far?

You get four thumbs up from me. The hood would look sweet.

Gorgeous!! Gotta love that sleek beak though. You sure you want to change it? Seems like everyone does and makes the smooth look more unique. I guess I'm in the minority but I would never change mine out.

I would keep the stock hood just because everybody and their brother has a WS6 hood. Nice car.

You did all that work in one week? Kudos, you must have worked your *** off.

I'm a fan of both the WS6 and Firehawk hoods. But the stock flat hood is starting to grow on me. I like it.

Nice car! Looks a lot like my 2000 vert.
What kind of exhaust are you running?

Personally, I'd keep the OEM hood. So many people put on WS6 or Raptor hoods, the sleek beak look is becoming kinda rare. I think it has a cleaner look.

The black top looks nice. I still have the tan top on mine. I haven't decided if I'll go with black or another tan top when it gets replaced.

Thumbs up

NICE! It looks just like mine except for the wheels, it's lower and it's clean, lol. What's funny is I was thinking of going with the same Ruff wheels, but in a 19". Ruff makes some nice deep rims.

As for my hood, I when a different, more radical, route. I picked up a VFN 5'' cowl Ram Air hood. This thing is SICK!

Here are some pics, and before anyone bashes it, it was test fitted.

BTW, the Bird is so nasty because I a rod bearing so it's been sitting a while, hence the Dirty Bird mod, lol.

Very nice and impressive list of work you did in one week.

As others have said the Firehawk hood is a good balance between the WS6 and stock hoods.

Do not get the huge VFN hood. I just got rid of mine. I loved the look but didn't really like driving it after a year or so.

Car looks great! I say go with the Raptor hood if you can find one.

hey man, check out the superhawk hood..they are a bit hard to get but they are the perfect blend of ram air and sleekness...and no not everybody has one..unlike the WS 6 ram air, or whatever the current trend today is..
