Default Shifting problem with HCI

I have a 99 Z28 M6 convertible with heads, cam, and intake. I also have a Spec Stage 3 clutch, aluminum driveshaft, and a Moser 9" rear. There is a thump when I am at a stop and put the car into first and occasionally a loud bang. It also can be a pain going into third.

I have UMI subframe connectors, UMI lower control arms, UMI strut tower brace, and a UMI panhard bar. I have Prothane motor mounts but never did transmission mounts.

Anybody ever have this problem? I'm wondering if I need to rebuild the trans or rear? Could this be an issue of chassis flex causing the issue?

Do you have the stock MC? If you do then you need to get an aftermarket one. I had a similar issue with my Spec Stage 3+. The stock master wouldn't fully disengage the clutch making it nearly impossible to get into gear. That is my thought on the reason for the being hard to get into gear.

Now, as for the noise, where is it coming from? I had that happen and the bolt that clamped the torque arm mount together on the transmission actually broke so the end of the torque arm was hitting the top of the tunnel.

I doubt you would need to rebuilt the rear but is the transmission stock or has it been built?

I have a Tick MC, probably should have included that in my original post. lol

I'll have to take a look to see if there is a bolt broken.

Tranny is still stock. Perhaps time for a level 2 rebuild?

Do you have the stock torque arm?

Check the bolt, would be nice if it was that simple of a fix.

I have a tick stg 2 rebuild on my trans and have no issues with it. I think the stg 2 is rated to 650rwtq
