Default My newest car. 00 Trans am WS6.

I recently had both a C4 corvette and an 05 GTO. Got rid of the goat due to financial reasons, and got rid of the C4 due to the fact that I was about to beat it with a sledge hammer because it was pouring oil out of a brand new rear main seal for the 3rd time.

I saw this 00 WS6 vert M6 that needed some transmission work and general care. It had an LQ4 in it as well. Got out to it and in addition to a toast transmission, the oil pressure was reading zero. It wasn't making any noise, so I figured that it was just a bad sender, and I proceeded to drive it 200 miles home. Yeah, that oil pressure sender was fine, come to find out, it spun a cam bearing.

I tore into the car and found a lot of dipshittery. No pilot bearing, a completely trashed T56, 853 heads on an LQ4, cam retainer plate gasket blown out, oil pickup tube that was RTVed on, etc.

Many tears and $100 bills later, I have arrived with a rebuilt LQ4 with proper 317 heads on it, LS1 cam and a stage 2 T-56. But I am at least happy with the car. Still have some stuff to fix in the interior, fix the headlights, and get a tune, but for the most part, I am happy with it. Ran the production numbers on it and it's 1 of 71.

At least you got the convertible boot cover
Nice job saving it from the scrap heap. It sure wasn't loved until you came along.
Enjoy it!

I couldn't figure out what the hell that boot cover was, my mom actually saw it and told me. I thought it was an interior panel for a different car lol.

The car was blurring the line between the owner that really cared about it, and the guy that had it last. Still needs a little bit of work, but can at least be brought back to life.

Definitely! By the way, if you have the storage bag that came with the boot cover, don't toss it. Boot covers WITH the bag run about $200 - $300 both here and on ebay.

Thanks. Cracked in one place each. Only one that I have ever seen that wasn't cracked was my 98 Formula.
