Wheels are 17x9" and 17x10.5"

Just wondering since convertibles are slightly heavier and I'm lowered on 1.25" springs and koni non adjustable shocks, will I have tire rubbing issues?

Update - 4/30/17-wheels / tires fit good and car feels excellent.

I ended up going with 255/40/17 and 285/40/17 tires.
The car is a 2002 with usual boltons, any bigger tires would have been over kill for a Sunday driver.

I am running OE Wheels ZR1 17x9 front with a 275/40/17 and 17x11 rear with a 315/35/17 rear. Koni yellow sport shocks with Hotchkis springs. SLP rear axle bump spacers with urethane bump stops.

I ran the same size on my hardtop and it would rub in the rear when loaded down on Hot Rod Power Tour. But only on bad dips especially at highway bridges. I did not roll my fenders though which I might do a little on the convertible. I did do the heater hose wrap on the springs and that helped a lot too.

Since you have a 255 front and rear I don't see where you would have a problem? Not even with a 275 since was an optional factory size.

I don't think you will like 255's on a 9.5 wheel. They are just a little too skinny. I would go with the 275's. I had 245's on the front of my pewter car on 9.5's and it didn't look good. 275's will fit fine and look great

I got bigger diameter 245 45 18 on 18x8.5 on my stock vert for commuting 135 miles a day and have had no issues rubbing.

Think the info is in my sig for the wheels (50mm bs) ... 315/30/18 rear 275's on the front.


Little light hammer work and some rolled fender lips in the back to get the rear tires to fit without rubbing.

I've got vette zr1's, 17x9 front, 17x11 rear, with 315-35/17 nitto motivo's on rear. I'm lowered on Strano springs with Koni str/t's, and I had to roll the fenders, remove the bump stops, and do a little hammering of inner wheel wells. Also installed adjustable panhard.

I got a set of 17x8.5 and 18x9.5 corvette wheels. Tires are 255-40-17 front and 285-40-18 in back. Getting car out of storage on Sunday. Can't wait to throw them on.

I'm running 17x10.5 with 315 Nitto's on the rear in my Vert and all I had to do was remove the bump stops.......No Issues in 2 years.
