Question How diffcult is it to change a convertible top?

My stock black top one has spots all over it so it needs replacing. My car is white and when my car is repainted I'm going for the solid white look so I'm looking for a white top. I was wondering how hard is it to change the top itself? Also can anyone recommend a site that sells good quality tops? The prices the dealers are quoting me are outrageous to say the least.

Thanks

I was curious about this myself. My top is starting to sag a little and I was considering a replacement. Has anyone done this?

well, i just did mine about a year ago and to be honest, i thought i could give it a try but its a bit of a pain.

I just found the best place around my area and had them do it. They did an awesome job and instead of gluing the top to the rails, which this is wat softens with heat and the top begins to lift when driving, they also stitched the top to the rails.

i drop close to 600$ for the whole job, not including the rear glass section, that alone is like $300-400!!

good luck

Do it at all? Yes.

Do it well? Probably not.

I did it myself on my old Fiat and it looked like
wrinkled *** ever after. Would I do that again,
to a much better car? Noper.

There is a guy that sells them on ebay for cheap. He sells oem ones so you don't have to worry about quality. He even has the back windows on there if you need one. Just keep checking there. It will save you a lot of money.
