I bought BMR's, but I'm starting to think I should have bought Kenny Brown Double Diamonds.

I got my BMR SFC's installed a week ago this past Thursday at SpeedteK in Haltom City. I forgot my camera but one of the guys there took some pictures during the install so I hope to post them soon. The difference with the SFCs installed is amazing. The car still rides very nicely but it handles like a big go kart. The chassis is just much tighter and they tuck up in so I can see no loss in ground clearance. Total was $259.01 out the door.

BMR do not tie into the middle of the car at all, just along the edges. On a coupe car the missing stiffness is due to the factory not using a full length frame rail. The convertibles have a lot of additional metal there already. In torsion (twisting the car end to end) the lack of a roof hurts the convertible far more so the coupes do not need to tie across the two sides nearly as much.

What someone should do sometime is attach a full roof to a convertible and see how stiff it is. That would be interesting.

I bought KBDD on my 97 and 99 t top cars. Immediate noticeable improvement ,no complaints. I put on bmr on the 96 vert and was major disappointed. I notice no improvement at all. !! I want to take them off but they are welded on and still might
cut ,grind them off and install the Kenny Brown double diamonds that should have installed in the first place.Get the KBDD!! Bmr might be ok for a non vert.

Also I have some advice for the bad cowl shake the verts get. Most all mine was banished after dropping the car an inch with hotchkis lowering springs. I am upgrading my sway bars and that should take car of the little bit left.

The picture looks like the same one they use for the non verts. The SLP vert subframe connectors are totaly different from the non verts. Does anyone know for sure that the Kenny Brown DD's actually tie into the center?

Yes, I know for a fact. The vert SFC's tie together in the center. I wasn't buying a set if they didn't, period. Not tying them together defeats the purpose of even installing SFC's IMO.

The KBDD's made a world of difference in my car and got rid of most the squeaks and rattles, plus it just flat out feels better. They wont dissapoint you.
